Beginning bachata at 8:00 PM
New to partner dancing? The beginning bachata lesson is the place to start. Doors normally open at 7:45 PM, giving you time to check in before the 8:00 PM class. Come on your own or with someone; a partner is not required.
Focus on finding the beat, making comfortable weight changes and communicating clearly with your partner. The aim of a first night is to enjoy moving to the music, not to master every combination.
Intermediate bachata at 9:00 PM
The regular Friday schedule includes intermediate bachata in the back room at 9:00 PM. If you already know the basics and can maintain your timing with a partner, this may be a better fit. Ask the instructor if you are unsure which level to join.
Intermediate is not a substitute for an introductory class. Returning to the beginning lesson is a sensible choice when you want to rebuild confidence or revisit fundamentals.
Practice in the bachata room
Social dancing starts at 9:30 PM and continues until 1:30 AM, with separate salsa and bachata rooms. Spend time with one style or move between the two. Beginning salsa is also scheduled at 8:45 PM if you want to try both.
Invite a partner rather than assuming, respect a declined dance, and agree on a comfortable distance. Avoid dips or lifts with someone who has not agreed to them. Thoughtful partnering makes the room more welcoming for everyone.
