Your first salsa class
The regular beginning salsa lesson starts at 8:45 PM on Fridays. Arrive before class begins so you have time to check in and get comfortable. You do not need a partner or previous dance experience.
A beginner's goal is simple: get comfortable with the basic rhythm, find your weight changes and learn to move with another person. Give yourself permission to repeat the basics instead of trying to remember a long sequence.
Make a full night of it
Want to try another style? Beginning bachata is scheduled at 8:00 PM, before salsa. From 9:30 PM, the night opens into social dancing with salsa and bachata in two rooms, continuing until 1:30 AM.
The transition from class to social is a chance to practice at your own pace. Watch a song, ask someone for a dance, take a break and return when you are ready. You do not have to stay until closing.
A social lesson, not a course commitment
This is an introduction built into a night out. It is a useful way to try salsa before committing to a longer course, or to add social practice to lessons you take elsewhere. If you are seeking private coaching or a multi-week syllabus, ask about the right class for that goal.
Wear comfortable clothing and secure shoes. Keep movements small when the floor is busy, ask before trying anything unfamiliar, and treat every partner's comfort as part of good dancing.
