Before you leave home
Choose the correct Friday date on Eventbrite and read what your ticket includes. Check the venue and special instructions, save your order details, and bring valid government-issued identification. Dance Fridays is 21+.
Wear something that lets you move freely, with shoes that stay on securely. You do not need a costume, a new outfit or specialist dance shoes. Plan your ride home in advance, especially if your usual transit service ends before the social does.
Arrive for the beginning lessons
Doors normally open at 7:45 PM. Beginning bachata starts at 8:00 PM, followed by beginning salsa at 8:45 PM. Arriving early lets you get through check-in without rushing into the middle of an explanation.
If you come alone, you are not doing it wrong. A partner is not required. Let the instructor know you are new, ask questions when something is unclear and choose a comfortable pace.
Take your first social dance
At 9:30 PM, the social begins in two rooms for salsa and bachata. You can watch before joining in. A simple invitation—'Would you like to dance?'—is enough. It is equally okay to accept, decline or take a break.
Start with the steps you remember. Keep your movements contained, notice the people around you and thank your partner at the end of the song. You do not need complicated turns to share a good dance.
Make the night work for you
Stay for a few songs or keep dancing until 1:30 AM. If you have access needs, questions about a class level or concerns about attending solo, call (415) 309-1284 before your visit.
The address is Space 550, 550 Barneveld Ave, San Francisco, CA 94124. For ticket-specific questions or changes to a booking, use Eventbrite's Contact organizer option so your inquiry stays connected to the right event.
